In conjunction with its Environmental month in February 2016, Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems Asia Sdn. Bhd (TTDA) participated in an environmental clean-up activity with children from Pusat Jagaan Kanak Kanak W.P., an orphanage, at the Metropolitan Park Kepong, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The orphanage is committed to providing for neglected children who need love, shelter and education.

Recognizing the consequences man’s actions can have on our environment, TTDA took the opportunity of a day out with 15 children to educate them on the importance of taking good care of the environment. Apart from cleaning up the park, the children were treated to many fun games and activities, such as an environment-themed drawing and colouring competition. At the end of the day, TTDA presented prizes to winners of the drawing competition, and presented a monetary gift to the organization.

Through this activity, TTDA also aimed to remind its staff that its business activities have a social and environmental impact on our surroundings, and encourage them to cultivate greener environmental habits and a sense of accountability to the environment.
