« Back Toshiba Tree Planting Day 2009

As part of Toshiba Corporation’s initiative to plant 1.5 million trees around the world by 2025, Toshiba Singapore organized a Tree-Planting Day on 2nd October 2009 at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, an ASEAN Heritage Park. Newly matriculated students from National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) were invited to participate in this youth out-reach event to conserve the mangrove ecosystem and reduce our carbon footprint. The purpose was to share the importance of conservation and environmental protection with our youth. In total, seventeen NUS students and ten NTU students participated together with Toshiba staff. Altogether, twenty-eight mangrove trees were planted.
