Toshiba demonstrated strong presence at the The Energy Transition Conference 2023

Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (ESS) and TOS Energy Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (TOSEM) jointly participated in the recently concluded The Energy Transition Conference 2023, held on August 28-29 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) and hosted by TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad). This conference served as a dynamic gathering of more than 2,000 industry leaders and experts, with a strong representation from Malaysia, including government ministers, officials, and industry pioneers. Additionally, the event featured approximately 70 speakers and panelists from both domestic and international energy and environmental sectors.

The importance of the event was augmented by the special attendance and launching of Phase 2 of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and Minister of Economy, Mr. Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli on August 29. Phase 2 of the NETR focuses on establishing the energy mix, greenhouse gas emissions reduction pathway, selected targets, and initiatives, as well as strengthening targeted investments, people strategies and international cooperation planning, and policy and regulation frameworks. This roadmap reinforces the nation’s commitment to the process of decarbonization while championing sustainable green growth.

Toshiba’s presence at the conference was marked by a booth that showcased the company’s unwavering commitment to advancing Malaysia’s energy industry. The booth featured Toshiba’s latest offerings in energy transition solutions and carbon neutral solutions including the innovative energy storage solution SCiBTM, the performance management system EtaPRO, and CCUS (carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage). Throughout the conference, the Toshiba booth was buzzing with interactions that facilitated the establishment of valuable relationships. These connections hold the promise of key partnerships, poised to shape the future of Malaysia’s energy transition journey.

Importantly, Toshiba’s presence reinforces TOSEM’s dedication to driving sustainable solutions within Malaysia’s energy landscape, aligning with Toshiba’s purpose to fulfill the promise of a new day.
