« Back Toshiba to reinforce Social Infrastructure Business in Philippines

To promote regional based solutions across social infrastructure businesses

TOKYO – Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced that Makati-based Toshiba (Philippines), Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, has established a dedicated organization to promote Toshiba Group’s social infrastructure sector in the Philippines. The new division is responsible for enhancing Toshiba Group’s presence and capabilities across a comprehensive range of social infrastructure businesses throughout the Philippines and will promote Toshiba’s participation in major industrial projects.

As the Philippines continues to modernize, enjoy continuing high growth rates and population growth, demand for consumer products is being supplemented by significant expansion in social infrastructure that is expected to increase in the coming years. Moving forward, the government is expected to channel over a sizeable amount into infrastructure projects in the near future, including upgrading and constructing power plants and transmission and distribution systems; developing road networks.
