Kuala Lumpur, 30 June 2014 – Toshiba Elevator and Building Systems Corporation (TELC; headquarters Kawasaki, Japan), a subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, announced that it has established an Engineering Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that will start operation on July 1^st.

The TELC Engineering Center (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of TELC, will provide engineering support in markets in Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East. The Center will use TELC’s comprehensive portfolio of people-moving technologies to deliver highly responsive support and quality products that meet market needs for safer, more comfortable, high quality elevators and escalators. TELC also has a manufacturing base in Penang, Malaysia.

Construction of high-rise buildings is booming worldwide, and with it the demand for high level technical support. TELC will meet this demand by continue to offer products and services suited to local markets, and by strengthening and expanding its engineering resources.
