AFPD Pte Ltd was invited by Dunman Secondary School to participate in the EAST Zone Enviro-Life Sciences Symposium on 14th Nov 2009 . The theme was ” Celebrating possibilities in Life Sciences and the Environment. The symposium aims to inculcate investigative research skills and self development as well as interest in the field of environmental and/or life sciences. In addition, its purpose is to create awareness in featured exploration/findings related to environmental and life sciences. Approximately 600 guests comprising parents, teachers students as well as various corporations supported this event.

AFPD set up a booth as part of its corporate social responsibility programme to bring fun games and education to this event. It showcased AFPD”s activities in reduce, reuse and recycling various types of wastes , and the environmentally conscious products in LCDS that we manufacture. All these were topped with a game of ball throwing and attractive souvenirs and prizes. It certainly brought much attention to our booth as well as raising awareness in educating our young, how corporations can work towards caring for the environment.( Article contributed by Ms May Ong – AFPD EHS Engineer Senior Officer)
