« Back Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte., Ltd. Celebrates the Opening of Yangon Branch Office

On July 3, Toshiba Asia Pacific celebrated the opening of its Yangon branch, at five-star hotel Park Royal Hotel Yangon. The opening ceremony was honored on the attendance by the Chief Minister of the Yangon Region Government, Mr. Myint Swe, and distinguished guest who counted over 100. The Myanmar economy is expected to grow as the government promotes economic deregulation, and Toshiba decided to mark a new step on its over 20 years relationship with the country.

“Toshiba is delighted to make this new step forward in Myanmar” addressed Mr. Shimomitsu, the Senior Vice President of Toshiba Corporation. Following this, Mr. Yoneda, the Chief Representative of Myanmar Office addressed the strategy especially emphasizing on Toshiba’s possible solution for power baselines, which is the backbone of the economy to lift.

H.E.(his excellency) Mr. Myint Swe, Chief Minister of Yangon Region Government welcomed, “With the enhancing relationship of Japan and Myanmar, we are delighted that one of the world’s leading electronic maker’s branch is opening today”. H.E. Mikio Numata, the Japanese ambassador to Myanmar celebrated together, and Mr. Win Aung, President of UMFCCI, welcomed by “We are looking forward to work with a leading Japanese technology company like Toshiba, and to learn from your world-class expertise and technology, and to support Myanmar’s economic growth by manufacturing sustainable solutions.”

The highlight was the ribbon cutting by the distinguished guests, and Mr. Otani, the Corporate Representative-Asia of Toshiba, thanked all the guest, that this day is the only the beginning for Toshiba in Myanmar, and that it will fully leverage its technological progress and leading edge product capabilities and put its reciprocal effort for the warm message given on this occasion.
