« Back Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. participates in Singapore International Water Week 2014

Toshiba Asia Pacific is participating in Singapore International Water Week 2014 (SIWW 2014), a global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions with stakeholders from the global water industry. In line with global water industry trends and opportunities, SIWW 2014 will feature discussions on four themes, namely: Municipal Water, Industrial Water, Integrated City-Environment-Water, and Future of Water, where it aims to explore forward-looking solutions to meet future challenges and scenarios.

Toshiba will showcase and introduce our water research technologies, achivements and solutions at the exhibit of Water Expo.

Toshiba booth’s main exhibits at the SIWW 2014 are:
Ozone Generator (TGOGSTM)
Electric discharge tubes, which have stainless steel electrodes spattered on the inside of glass, provide high corrosion resistance against nitrogen oxides that are produced together with ozone as a by-product during discharging. Toshiba’s ozone generators have electric discharge tubes with a smaller diameter to improve both the dimensional accuracy of the discharge gaps and the cooling efficiency.

UV Irradiation Equipment
UV irradiation is an effective technique for inactivating chlorine-tolerant pathogens.
Toshiba’s medium pressure UV irradiation equipment realizes dimming control without the need for UVT (Ultraviolet Transmittance) monitors.

UASB for Highly Concentrated Wastewater
Physically smaller space is required because this system can accept a higher organic load than conventional aerobic treatment systems. (Volume cut by half is possible for instance compared with a conventional process.) This system is suitable for treating wastewater with a high amount of organic matter (BOD* concentration of 2,000 mg/L or more) such as wastewater from food factories.
* Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) is the amount of dissolved oxygen needed by aquatic microorganisms inwater to decompose and stabilize organic matter. It is widely used as an indicator of the degree of organic pollution of water.
