On 12 December 2018, Toshiba group companies in Singapore joined hands to bring some festive cheer to the beneficiaries of Sunbeam Place, managed by The Singapore Children’s Society. This activity was organized as part of “Toshiba Group Volunteer Days 2018”, a global Toshiba group-wide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort and held in conjunction with the United Nations’ International Volunteer Day.
This year’s activity included a visit to the NEWater Visitor Centre to understand Singapore’s continuous progress in water sustainability and a lunch treat for the children. The children from Sunbeam Place were also presented with gifts in the form of cash donations, book vouchers, stationery and gifts raised collectively through the participating companies and individual’s contributions.
Mr. Tatsuo Doko, Corporate Representative for Asia, Toshiba Corporation and Managing Director, Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte Ltd shared, “CSR is a cornerstone of Toshiba’s management philosophy of total commitment to people and to the future. We also believe that lifelong learning is an enabler for progress, and we hope that this educational visit and our gifts will go a long way in helping the children and youth of Sunbeam Place unlock their full potential.”
Partnering Sunbeam Place for the third time, volunteers from seven Toshiba group companies in Singapore – Toshiba Asia Pacific, Toshiba Electronics Asia (Singapore), Toshiba Logistics (Singapore), Toshiba TEC Singapore, Toshiba Data Dynamics, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (Singapore), and TMEIC Asia took part in this year’s meaningful CSR activity.
