On 04 December 2019, employees from Toshiba group companies in Singapore and beneficiaries of Sunbeam Place visited the Singapore Science Centre as part of Toshiba Group Volunteer Days 2019.
This event is a global Toshiba group-wide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort and held in conjunction with the United Nations’ International Volunteer Day. Sunbeam Place is managed by The Singapore Children’s Society.
Mr. Ryuji Maruyama, Corporate Representative for Asia, Toshiba Corporation and Managing Director, Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte Ltd highlights, “CSR is a cornerstone of Toshiba’s management philosophy to make a positive and sustainable contribution in our communities. We also believe that continuous learning is necessary for progress and we remain to be Committed to People, Committed to the Future. – that is to be purposeful in our actions to the people around us, in the areas of work, live and play.”
Collaborating with Sunbeam Place for the fourth time, gifts in the form of cash donations and other donations in kind contributed by Toshiba group companies in Singapore and individual employees, were also presented to the beneficiaries. This activity reaffirms our belief that corporate volunteering is a purposeful and sustainable CSR activity.
