Toshiba presents “Achieving the secure Quantum keys of tomorrow, today” at Asia TechXSingapore 2022

Singapore – Toshiba together with SpeQtral, Toshiba’s strategic partner for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) in Southeast Asia, participated in TechXLR8’s Technology Summit, which is a part of Asia Tech X Singapore, held in Singapore Expo on June 3, 2022. TechXLR8 Asia gathers and connects industrial leaders from AI, Cybersecurity, IoT, Cloud, Data, and Quantum Technology to advance the APAC region as a digital marketplace.
Mr. Katsuro Ejima, Chief Evangelist of Toshiba’s QKD business development office presented on securing the future of the quantum economy. Mr. Ejima shared that the future will be defined by quantum computers and the quantum economy hold huge potential more significant than the digital economy of today. Governments, the financial sector, healthcare, telecommunications, utilities & infrastructure, and consumer markets will require a fast, secure and reliable transmission of data to run economies. With the rise of supercomputing, the security of existing encryption methods will be challenged in exposing its vulnerabilities and security risks in this data-driven world. This is where the need for secure quantum communications comes in, and quantum key distribution (QKD) is the solution.
Toshiba is able to showcase how QKD can be adopted in today’s network and make a difference across various industries, this is achievable
from three decades of rich research experience. Toshiba ranks first in the world for QKD-related patents, demonstrated QKD technologies
and use cases with partners in Japan, the UK, Europe, the US, and Korea, and successfully navigated the long journey through research to
reality.
