Toshiba bersama Rinko Bus dan Drive Electro Uji Coba Bus Listrik dengan Fitur Pengisian Daya Baterai “Super-Cepat” 10 Menit

Bus listrik pertama di Jepang yang beroperasi di jalan umum dengan menggunakan solusi pengisian daya baterai pantograf, solusi yang bisa diaplikasikan di berbagai kota kecil dan besar di negara-negara Asia

TOKYO — Toshiba Corporation bersama Kawasaki Tsurumi Rinko Bus Co., Ltd. (Rinko Bus) dan Drive Electro Technology Co., Ltd. (Drive Electro Technology) akan mengkaji proyek uji coba*1 efektivitas baterai super-rapid charging yang didukung pantograf. Proyek ini akan beroperasi pada November 2025 setelah bus tersebut dimodifikasi dan fasilitas pengisian daya baterai pantograf terpasang di depo bus. Bus tersebut akan melintasi rute reguler pada jalan-jalan umum di Kawasaki, sebelah selatan Tokyo.

Proyek pertama yang diuji coba di jalan umum di Jepang ini*2, akan mengevaluasi kelayakan bus yang baterainya diisi ulang dengan pantograf. Rinko Bus akan mengelola layanan bus ini, sedangkan Drive Electro Technology akan memproduksi sistem pengisian daya baterai pantograf. Drive Electro Technology juga akan mengonversi bus diesel menjadi bus listrik dengan baterai super-rapid charging SCiB™ buatan Toshiba. Daya baterai yang telah digunakan dan terpasang pada sistem pengisian daya pantograf akan diisi ulang agar konsumsi daya menjadi lebih hemat pada jam-jam sibuk, serta digunakan sebagai pasokan daya pada baterai on-board melalui pantograf.

Meski pemerintah di Tiongkok dan Eropa mendukung bus listrik sebagai investasi lingkungan hidup, volume penjualan bus listrik pada 2023 hanya mencapai 50.000 unit, atau 3% dari seluruh volume penjualan bus*3. Durasi pengisian daya baterai yang terlalu lama, serta keterbatasan jumlah alat pengisian daya baterai menghambat efisiensi operasional bus. Di sisi lain, kebutuhan area luas untuk fasilitas pengisian daya baterai, serta instalasi berbagai fasilitas pengisian daya baterai bus juga menjadi kendala-kendala utama. Kendala-kendala tersebut menjadi tantangan besar dalam tingkat penggunaan bus listrik di area-area perkotaan di Asia yang padat penduduk, serta memiliki keterbatasan lahan.

Toshiba akan berkolaborasi dengan Rinko Bus dan Drive Electro Technology dalam proyek uji coba ini sebagai inisiatif yang memanfaatkan teknologi mutakhir. Lewat proyek ini, Toshiba juga ingin memperkenalkan sistem tersebut di Asia, serta bekerja sama meningkatkan netralitas karbon dan pertumbuhan berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat luas.
