Toshiba Advances Quantum-Safe Conversations at GovWare 2026
- Highlights
Toshiba brought its quantum-safe communications expertise to GovWare 2026 in Singapore from 13 to 15 October, engaging cybersecurity professionals, government representatives and technology leaders on how organizations can prepare their critical communications for emerging quantum threats.
Across three days, the Toshiba team shared practical approaches to quantum-safe security, from understanding evolving risks and assessing readiness to exploring technologies that can strengthen cyber resilience.
Bringing Quantum-Safe Security into Practice
At the Toshiba booth, visitors explored practical approaches to securing critical networks in the quantum era through a live quantum-safe use case demonstration.
Toshiba showcased a validated solution developed with SpeQtral and HPE, integrating Toshiba’s Quantum-secure Networking Platform with HPE Networking SRX Next Generation Firewall. Combining Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), the solution introduces quantum-safe key material into existing IPsec environments, providing a practical approach to strengthening sensitive communications while preserving existing network infrastructure.
A notable engagement was the visit by Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA) to the Toshiba booth. Katsuyuki Hanai provided an introductory briefing, followed by a demonstration of the quantum-safe IPsec VPN use case, enabling direct discussion around practical quantum-safe technology deployment readiness of the quantum-safe networking for critical network infrastructure.
From Quantum Risk to Resilience
Beyond the booth, Mr. Katsuyuki Hanai of Q-STAR and Toshiba Corporation presented “Securing Critical Infrastructure in the Quantum Era: From Risk to Resilience.” His session explored the evolving quantum threat landscape and the role of quantum-safe communications in protecting critical infrastructure and national communication networks, including practical implementation, international collaboration and long-term resilience.
The session complemented the conversations taking place at the Toshiba booth, moving the discussion from recognizing future quantum risks towards the practical considerations involved in preparing critical communications and infrastructure.
Advancing the Quantum-Safe Conversation
Throughout GovWare 2026, Toshiba had meaningful discussions with cybersecurity professionals, government representatives, technology leaders and other industry stakeholders around quantum-safe security, critical infrastructure protection and cyber resilience. These conversations provided opportunities to better understand organisations’ quantum-readiness considerations and to continue discussions beyond the event on practical approaches to protecting critical communications.
As organisations prepare for a changing cybersecurity landscape, Toshiba will continue advancing quantum-secure communications and working with industry partners to help organisations build resilient, crypto-agile networks for the quantum era.
