Singapore- Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation (hereinafter: TISS) will be exhibiting at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), from July 8-12. TISS and UEM India Pvt. Ltd. (UEM), an India-based Toshiba Group company, will show how Toshiba can contribute to safe and secure water resources.
Access to clean potable water is a growing concern as rural populations continue to flow into cities, especially in developing countries. As the World Bank had noted, urban water demand is expected to increase 50 percent over the next 30 years1, and meeting that demand and securing sustainable water solutions will require secure infrastructure, new technologies and a lot of innovation. That’s where Toshiba Group steps in.
TISS has about 50 years of experience in making more water available through conservation, purification, recycling and reusing efforts. The group has been an active contributor of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for municipalities and industries in about 40 countries, in an effort to optimize the efficiency of the various water distribution networks.
UEM will also demonstrate the capabilities that is earning its leadership in turnkey services for water and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal. As a core company of TISS’s water treatment and engineering business, UEM is developing a global business with a focus on Asia, Africa, Central America and the Middle East. Recent success it will feature is an EPC contract for a new water reclamation facility in the Philippines expected to be ready by 2020. With over 350 projects across 35 countries, UEM is well positioned to deploy its technologies and expertise from planning, designing and construction of water treatment equipment to operation management and maintenance.
The Toshiba group will showcase an extensive range of solution offerings for water treatment companies and general contractors seeking to build collaborations in this region. Access to drinking water is now made more accessible with TISS’s TGOGS™ ozone generation system which disinfects water and breaks down organic compounds that cause color, taste and odor. TISS’s Zero Liquid Discharge system, based on HERO™ technology, incorporates a highly efficient reverse osmosis (RO) technology that optimizes recycling and reuse of wastewater, and the system delivers a recovery rate of over 95%. In addition, TISS’s IoT solutions will allow the visualization of required data and enable optimum operation and maintenance of water treatment plants.
