Times Square Countdown

Toshiba Vision Times Square

Prominently positioned below the world-famous New Year countdown ball in New York City Times Square business and entertainment district, Toshiba massive dual LED signboards, known collectively as "TOSHIBA VISION", have been serving a variety of seasonal, promotional and public-service functions since 2007.

Times Square in New York City is one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks, and the annual New Year countdown at the building – perhaps the most famous of all countdown venues – is broadcast worldwide, with over a billion people around the world tuning in to the year-end celebration. Toshiba expects to generate substantial publicity for its brand and products by positioning the signboard in the heart of the city, a place visited by over 50 million tourists and business people a year.

At the countdown each year, the displays never fail to bring additional excitement to the countdown moments by displaying the last 60 seconds to the New Year. And without fail this year, everyone at Times Square looked upon the Toshiba LED screen and shout out the seconds displayed till the final exploding second of 2015 and usher in the first moments of 2016.

As a global company, TOSHIBA counts down at Times Square with the world. Hours before America ushers in the New Year countdowns of various cities around the world in different time zones were screened in real time, with Singapore at 11.00am, 31 December 2015, Thursday (EST) – Time in New York, NY, USA.

Toshiba is proud to be the official Times Square Countdown Sponsor with TOSHIBA VISION the official countdown screen.
